NEET UG 2025 Re-Test: The Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has given a big verdict on the problem of students due to power failure in the NEET UG examination held on 4 May. The High Court ordered the National Testing Agency to conduct a re -examination for those students who had filed a petition before 3 June 2025 for this disturbance. The court also said that the rank of the petitioners will be fixed only on the basis of marks obtained in this special examination. This re -examination will be conducted again for 75 students.
These students will not get a chance to take the exam again
According to the decision issued by the Indore Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, the students who filed the petition before June 3 have not been allowed to take the examination as the results of these students have already been declared. During the hearing, the court had also assessed the situation by shutting down the courtroom lights to understand the difficulties of the students on the day of the examination. The court in the order of 19 pages admitted that there was no fault of the students, yet they had to take the exam under difficult conditions due to power cuts. The court also said that it was inequality, as some candidates were sitting in such rooms where there was a lot of facilities for natural light.

The students who had given the exam there due to the power of electricity to an examination center in Indore had filed a petition for the re -execution in the High Court. The last hearing of this petition was held on 9 June in which Solicitor General Tushar Mehta of the Government of India, panel advocate Rupesh Kumar and Deputy Solicitor General Romesh Dave presented the court in the court. He claimed that there was adequate power backup arrangement in the centers where there was power failure. On the other hand, on behalf of the students, lawyer Mridul Bhatnagar, while rejecting the claim of the government side in his argument, said that NTA’s Center Observer himself wrote in the report that generators were not available at many centers and there was no adequate lighting. The lawyer also demanded to submit the reports of six examination centers of Ujjain in the court, where the examination was affected due to power cuts. In this case, the court has ordered to organize the exam again, giving the verdict in favor of the students.
