Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar became active after the case of beating of Bihari youth in Siliguri, West Bengal came to light. On Thursday, he immediately instructed Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and DGP Alok Raj to take immediate action in this matter. He instructed both the senior officers to talk to their counterparts in West Bengal and get complete information. After this the Chief Secretary and DGP talked to their respective counterparts of West Bengal. Let us tell you that after contacting Bihar Police Headquarters, Bengal Police also became active and Rajiv Bhattacharya, accused of beating Bihari youth, was taken into custody.
Actually, a video of this incident is going viral on social media, which has sparked a political turmoil in Bihar. Leaders from the party and the opposition condemned this incident. In this video, accused Rajiv Bhattacharya is seen misbehaving with the youth who had gone to Siliguri for competitive examination. Siliguri Police is taking him into custody and interrogating him. Further action will be taken after inquiry.

Chirag, Giriraj attacked Mamta government, Lalu also called
After the video of assault on Bihari youth went viral, Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Chirag Paswan condemned the incident and attacked the Mamata government of West Bengal fiercely. Giriraj said that on one hand Rohingya Muslims are being welcomed in Bengal, while on the other hand the youth coming from Bihar to appear for the examination are being beaten. Union Minister cum LJP President Ram Vilas Chirag Paswan said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has once again insulted Biharis. Now even giving examination has become a crime in their state. Opposition party RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav also expressed grief over the incident and spoke to Mamata Banerjee over phone and urged action against the culprit.

The accused Rajeev Bhattacharya, detained by Siliguri Police, is said to be a member of a fundamentalist organization named Bangla Pakho. In the viral video, he is seen entering the room of two youths who had come from Bihar to appear for the exam and assaulting them. The accused also asked him why he had come from Bihar to Bengal to appear for the examination. He also accused them of grabbing the jobs of local people by giving exams in Bengal on the basis of fake certificates.
