Nitish Kumar Minority Dialogue: As the time of Bihar assembly elections comes closer, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken fast to help voters. In this episode, Nitish Kumar appeared directly to the Muslim community in the ‘Minority Dialogue’ program held in Bapu Auditorium in Patna on Thursday. CM Nitish Kumar in his address counted the achievements of the government and appealed to the Muslim society to express confidence. But in the meantime, madrasa teachers created a huge uproar over their pending salary.
Chief Minister’s appeal in minority dialogue
During the program, CM Nitish Kumar said that his government has launched several schemes for the benefit of Muslims. Referring to the Lalu-Rabri rule, he said that no major and strong work was done for the minorities at that time, but the JDU government has taken important steps for the big benefit of minorities on every front from education to job. He told the people, “Believe us, we have always worked for minorities and will do further.”
Madrasa teachers protested
At the end of Nitish’s speech, the teachers who came to the centenary celebrations of the Madrasa Board shouted slogans. He said that teachers of government -helped madrasas in the state have not been getting salary for a long time. He has also staged a sit-in demonstrations about this problem, but no major step was taken by the government. The teachers raised the question – “When the government is running so many schemes for us, why did we not get our salary?”
Madrasa board condition deteriorated
The teachers alleged that the condition of Bihar Madrasa Board is very critical. Neither the structure here is being corrected nor financial help is getting on time. Teachers family are struggling with financial crisis and many times they have to live by taking loans. This is the reason that when Nitish Kumar was talking about the benefits of the minorities, the teachers showed their displeasure and raised questions.
Electricity votes in electoral politics
According to the information, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is eyeing the Muslim vote bank in view of the assembly elections. After the announcement of several schemes between women and young voters, now JDU’s focus is on the Muslim community. This is the reason that programs like ‘Minority Dialogue’ are being organized, so that direct communication can be established with the minority society. But this opposition from madrasa teachers can stand as a big challenge for the government.
Uproar after the program
According to the information, after CM Nitish Kumar’s speech and program ended, he exited the auditorium. Immediately after his departure, the madrasa teachers created a huge uproar and raised the demand for salary payment. During this time the security system was strict, but the resentment of the teachers was clearly visible.
Now what next?
Now in the coming days, it has to be seen what method the government adopts on this demand of madrasa teachers. Such a protest can impact JDU’s strategy just before the assembly elections. It will now be a big challenge to calm the displeasure of teachers in front of the Nitish government, which is trying to help the minority society.
