A case of rape and murder of a class 4 student has come to light in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. According to the report, this incident was carried out with the girl while returning home from tuition. His body was found on the banks of river Ganga in Kripakhali village on Saturday morning. Police say that the victim went missing on Friday evening, for which a case was registered at midnight. Based on preliminary investigation, the accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
Baruipur Superintendent of Police Palash Dhali said that the girl was reported missing at 9 pm on Friday night. Investigation was started soon after, due to which the suspect could be identified. FIR was registered by midnight and then the accused was arrested. After this, the body of the victim was recovered in the morning. He said that the police have taken all necessary steps. Any kind of complaint is being resolved. The accused is being interrogated in this case.
BJP targeted CM Mamata Banerjee
BJP’s Bengal unit chief Sukant Majumdar expressed grief over the incident. Also criticized the Trinamool Congress government of the state for the deteriorating law and order situation. He also released some footage in which local people are seen protesting. Majumdar wrote in his post, ‘This incident happened in Kripakhali area of Kultali police station. A Class IV student was raped and brutally murdered while returning from tuition. After some time the villagers found his body on the banks of the river. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has failed in providing security to women. My question to him is whether the girls of Bengal will not get relief even at the beginning of Devi Paksha? How many more Bengali girls will have to face this plight under your misrule?
Protests continue over RG tax issue
This incident has come to light at a time when there is an uproar over the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. On August 9, the body of a trainee doctor was found at RG Kar College and Hospital. There were protests across the country regarding this. Junior doctors continued their protest in central Kolkata on Saturday despite calling off their ‘complete strike’ protest against the incident. The doctors alleged that police lathi-charged some of the agitators during their rally from SSKM Hospital to Esplanade in southern Kolkata on Friday demanding justice for the victim. In protest against the police lathi charge, some junior doctors were seen holding umbrellas in their hands amid the rain, while some took shelter under tarpaulins.
