Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government on Friday canceled the holidays of all its employees with immediate effect due to the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan. A notification issued by the General Administration Department stated that all types of holidays taken by the state government employees have been canceled with immediate effect, except for the required holidays for unavoidable conditions. These employees and officers have been instructed to return to work immediately. Apart from this, all the employees have been instructed not to leave their headquarters without the prior approval of the department head.
Instructions to keep the prices of essential commodities under control
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in a post on X, “In view of the current situation, all the officers and employees of all departments and offices of the state government as well as all kinds of leave of boards, corporations, panchayats, municipal corporations and all kinds of institutions have been canceled with immediate effect.” CM said that the CM has also been instructed to keep the prices of essential goods under control.
Patel said in his post, “All vendors, retailers, processors, mill owners and importers have been given strict instructions to follow the necessary legal provisions to prevent the hoarding or black marketing of essential commodities.” He said that there is a humble request from the citizens not to fall prey to any rumors and trust the state government and the district administration.
This order was given to the officers-
Earlier, CM reviewed the state’s preparations in the border districts. CM Patel performed video conferencing with collectors and superintendents of police of the affected areas and issued immediate instructions on withdrawal, civil security, healthcare and communication systems. Instructed the district administration to identify safe shelter sites and ensure availability of drinking water, food, supply, fuel and other essential commodities. He also asked the authorities to collect adequate stock of essential commodities and fuel as a precautionary step.
