Ramdev Jayanti and Teja Dashami were celebrated with great pomp in Rajasthan today. On the occasion of Ramdev Jayanti and Teja Dashami, Teja Dashami fairs were organised in all Tejaji temples across the state. On this occasion, Chhoti Kashi Jaipur reverberated with chants of Veer Tejaji Maharaj. A flood of faith surged in Tejaji and Ramdev temples. Tejaji Maharaj was worshipped in all Veer Tejaji temples and he was offered kheer, puas and puris.
Ramdev Jayanti and Teja Dashami were celebrated with great enthusiasm in Choti Kashi Jaipur too. Special programs were organized in all Tejaji temples including Amer, Jaisinghpura Khor, Sanganer, Shastri Nagar. Tejaji Maharaj’s temple and his idols were decorated with special floral arrangements. Various types of tableaux were also decorated. A flood of faith was seen flowing since morning in the ancient Tejaji temple located at Jajolai ki Talai in Amer. Thousands of devotees reached here and offered Tejaji Maharaj’s Prasad and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of their families. A grand fair was also organized in Tejaji temple in Amer.
In the Sarp Jhanki, Tejaji Maharaj’s ghorla (servant) rode a horse with the snake around his neck and blessed the devotees. The specialty of this Tejaji temple is that every year on Teja Dashmi, the snake god himself appears and sits on the neck of Tejaji Maharaj’s servant. After that, Tejaji Maharaj’s servants place it around their necks and ride on a horse throughout the fair to give darshan to the devotees. The snake tableau taken out during the fair in the temple becomes the center of attraction for the devotees. Not only local devotees but foreign devotees also come here to see this tableau. This tableau is especially taken out twice on the festival of Teja Dashmi.
