A sub-inspector of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, tarnishing the image of the Khaki uniform, implicated a young man in a false case and demanded a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from him. The young man got himself bail by paying Rs. 25,000. The young man, troubled by the demand for money, complained about this to the Lokayukta officer.
As per the plan, he went to give another 50 thousand rupees. Meanwhile, the Lokayukta team raided and caught the sub-inspector red-handed while taking bribe at a shop in Chandangaon. 50 thousand rupees cash was seized from sub-inspector Jitendra Yadav and action was taken under the Corruption Act. The team took him to the Circuit House, where further action is being taken.
The Lokayukta team has caught the sub-inspector of Chhindwara Kotwali taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. Sub-inspector Jitendra Yadav had demanded money from a youth in exchange for closing the case. A case has been registered against him under the Corruption Act.
It is being told that the complainant Durgesh Soni was picked up by the police on the night of 22nd August in some case. The next day he was implicated in a false case and asked for Rs. 1 lakh. During this time the youth gave Rs. 25,000 that he had kept at home. After that he got bail on 25th August. Sub Inspector Jitendra Yadav was harassing him for the remaining money. He was threatening to implicate the youth in a false case again.
Troubled by this the young man made a written complaint to Jabalpur Lokayukta. While investigating the case the Lokayukta caught the sub-inspector red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 50 thousand. Lokayukta officer Dilip Jharware told that the police had accused the victim of giving a contract to kill a leader of Chhindwara. In this very case one lakh rupees was demanded in exchange for hushing up the case. The troubled applicant made a complaint to Jabalpur Lokayukta. While investigating the Lokayukta team caught the sub-inspector red-handed while taking bribe.
