Opposition alliance’s talks on seat sharing in Haryana stuck, AAP angry with Congress for not fulfilling demands | News Track in English

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: The issue of seat sharing between AAP and Congress for the assembly elections in Haryana is not being resolved. Congress does not seem to be ready to meet the seat demands of Aam Aadmi Party, due to which the talks between the two parties have got stuck. Aam Aadmi Party is adamant on the demand of 10 seats while Congress is ready to give five and maximum seven seats.

There has been a tussle between the two over this and AAP has even warned of contesting the elections on its own. AAP has also warned that the mistake of considering us weak should not be made or else Congress will have to regret it later. It is believed that if the matter is not resolved then AAP can also release the list of its candidates soon.

AAP is adamant on its demand for 10 seats

After the initiative of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, talks are going on between the two parties regarding seat sharing. However, the factions of both Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja in the state do not seem ready for an alliance with AAP. During the party meeting, when this issue was being discussed, Hooda left the meeting in anger. After Rahul Gandhi’s pressure, talks are going on between the two parties regarding alliance, but there is no coordination between the two parties regarding seats.

Congress sources say that the talks between the two parties regarding seats have got stuck. Actually, AAP is demanding 10 seats while Congress is not ready to give that many seats. Congress has said that it will give five and maximum seven seats. AAP’s chief national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar says that talks are going on between the two parties but no agreement has been reached regarding seats yet.

Talks over seats on the verge of breaking down

Sources associated with AAP say that after the tussle over seats has increased, the talks between the two parties are on the verge of breaking down. Party sources even claim that if the talks are not positive, the party may soon release the first list of candidates.

The work of vetting the candidates within the party is also being done rapidly. During the last Lok Sabha elections, there was an alliance between the two parties, but during the assembly elections, the talks between the two parties have not yet reached any conclusion.

AAP gave an open warning to Congress

Meanwhile, AAP’s National Secretary (Organization) Sandeep Pathak claimed that the party is ready to contest all 90 assembly seats in Haryana with full force. He warned the Congress that it should not be mistaken to underestimate AAP, otherwise nothing will be achieved except regret later. He said that we have also made election preparations in the state and we are waiting for the party’s orders. After getting the green signal from the party leadership, we are fully prepared to announce the candidates.

AAP is busy in election campaign in Haryana

However, Sandeep Pathak’s words seem to have some weight because the party is also running an election campaign in Haryana. The party’s national chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also says that if the talks do not yield a favorable result, then we are fully prepared to show our strength in Haryana.

Assembly elections in Haryana are going to be held in a single phase on October 5 and the last date for nomination for this is September 12. In such a situation, if an agreement is not reached between the two parties within a day or two, then both the parties are ready to clash face to face in the assembly elections.
