Prajwal, Sahana, Purna Chandra, Shivalinga Swami, Bhowmik, Shravan … are those who lost their lives in a stampede. The accident occurred in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, in which 11 people died and 33 were injured. All the injured are being treated in different hospitals. This stampede was not in any political rally or religious program, but while celebrating the victory of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Government program kept
RCB won the IPL trophy for the first time after 18 years. In the joy of this victory, a government program was held in honor of the team at Vidhan Sudha, Bengaluru. But during this time there was a sad incident, which should be seen by everyone. A large number of people outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium were waiting for hours to get a glimpse of RCB. Then there was a stampede, in which many people lost their lives. At that time people were dying outside, and inside the minister’s son was being prepared to stand on the stage with Virat Kohli. RCB expressed grief over the incident. He said that as soon as he came to know about the accident through the media, he immediately changed his program. The team expressed condolences to those killed and appealed to all the fans to be safe.
Crowd caused a stir due to overcrowding
Regarding the Bengaluru accident, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Cricket Association is responsible for this stampede. He said that the gates of the stadium were very small and when the crowd came, people broke the gate and started entering inside, causing a stampede. The Chief Minister said that this was an unexpected accident. The stadium had a capacity of 35,000 people, but around 3-4 lakh people had gathered outside.
Comparison of Mahakumbh
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced to give assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of those killed and to get treatment for the injured free. While answering the BJP’s questions, he said that there should not be politics on such accidents and also reminded of the stampede in Mahakumbh.
PM Modi expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned the incident. He wrote on social media that this incident in Bengaluru is very sad. My condolences are with families who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured to recover soon.
