There was a good sale of liquor on the plane during the first four-hour flight of Air India Express from Surat in Gujarat to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The passengers consumed liquor worth Rs 2 lakh. When passengers shared their travel experience between Surat and Bangkok, it went viral in no time. Some passengers claimed that the liquor stock had run out. This flight was operated by Boeing 737-8 aircraft on Friday. There were 175 passengers and six crew members on board the aircraft. The passenger capacity of the aircraft is 176.
Passengers went out of control even before landing
In fact, 98 percent of the seats in Air India Express’s Chennai-Surat-Bangkok flight were full on the first day. The special thing is that on the very first day of the flight from Surat to Bangkok, the passengers inaugurated the flight by drinking alcohol. The passengers drank so much alcohol that the entire stock on the flight was exhausted. There were about 175 passengers on board this flight who drank 15 liters of liquor worth Rs 1.80 lakh during the 4-hour journey. Along with this, the passengers also exhausted the stock including whiskey and beer in the flight.
Not only this, the beauties enjoyed the breakfast in the flight so much that all the snacks were finished. The airline staff appeared worried due to the stock of all food items including Khaman, Thepla being exhausted.
Airline officials made this claim
However, officials of the low-cost airline on Sunday said there was brisk sale of liquor on the flight from Surat to Bangkok and the stock was not exhausted as claimed by some people on social media. Some passengers said on social media that the airline had run out of liquor. Officials said that the plane had adequate stock of liquor as well as food.
There was no official statement from Tata Group-owned Air India Express. According to officials, generally no more than 100 ml of alcohol is given to a passenger during a flight. Drinking alcohol is prohibited in Gujarat. (with language inputs)
