Ahmedabad: Gujarati New Year was celebrated in Gujarat today. Gujarati New Year falls the day after Diwali and marks the beginning of Vikram Samvat, the traditional Hindu calendar prevalent in Gujarat. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the people on the occasion of Gujarati New Year. People celebrated Gujarati New Year by visiting each other’s houses and offering prayers in temples.

PM Modi wrote in Gujarati on X, ‘May this new year starting from today bring happiness, success and prosperity in your life and may you have good health. May all your dreams come true in the coming year and may every day be filled with new energy and positivity! Happy New Year. At the same time, Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met supporters at their respective residences in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Union Minister CR Patil and senior Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil met their supporters and well-wishers and extended their good wishes.

CM Bhupendra Patel started his day by offering prayers at Panchdev temple. He visited the Trimandir located at Adalaj in Gandhinagar and paid obeisance at the tombs of present Tirthankar Shri Seemandhar Swami and Pujya Neeru. Later he also offered prayers at Bhadrakali Mataji temple in Ahmedabad. Patel said on Twitter that Happy New Year to all the citizens of Gujarat and Gujarati families around the world. I pray that the new year brings happiness, peace, health and prosperity in everyone’s life.

CM Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the countrymen the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’. Let us all resolve to contribute our best in fulfilling this vision by building a developed Gujarat at the beginning of the New Year. CM met Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhavan and wished him for the New Year. Patel met Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence.
