Prime Minister Narendra Modi
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Vadtal in Kheda district of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the countrymen to maintain unity and integrity. He said that some people are trying to divide the society on the basis of caste, religion, language and gender for their vested interests, which is very important to be defeated. The Prime Minister stressed the need for unity and cooperation among the citizens to make the country a developed nation by 2047.
Opposition to efforts to divide society
Addressing devotees at Vadtal through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi said, “Some people are trying to divide the society, but we have to understand their intentions and unite and defeat them.” He also said that to make India a developed nation by 2047, there is a need for unity in the society and integrity of the nation.
Call from Swaminarayan sect
The Prime Minister appealed to the saints of the Swaminarayan sect to help connect every citizen of the country with the goal of ‘Developed India’. He also said that just as the countrymen fought with the aspiration of freedom in the freedom struggle, similarly now the feeling of making the country developed should be in the heart of every Indian.

The Prime Minister said, “Youth can and will play an important role in nation building. For this we have to create a strong and educated young generation. Skilled and capable youth will become our biggest strength.”
200th anniversary of Swaminarayan temple
Prime Minister Modi also released a coin to mark 200 years of Swaminarayan Temple, Vadtal. He said that Lord Shri Swaminarayan had come at a difficult time in our history and had given new strength to the country. The Prime Minister also expressed happiness over the establishment of Vadtal Dham and said that even today the spiritual consciousness can be felt there. He said, “Swaminarayan’s teachings provide a path of empowerment for us. Even today we can feel his energy and inspiration here.”
