Jamnagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Animal Rescue, Protection and Rehabilitation Center Vanatara in Jamnagar district of Gujarat on Sunday morning. Vantara, spread over three thousand acres, is located in the premises of Jamnagar Refinery of Reliance. It is a dedicated rescue center for welfare of wildlife, and provides sanctuaries, rehabilitation and medical care to animals saved from abuse and exploitation. During his visit to Vantara, PM Modi was accompanied by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, his wife Neeta, his son Anant and daughter -in -law Radhika. Vantara is the house of more than 200 rescued elephants.
Will worship in Somnath temple
After visiting Vantara, the Prime Minister will offer prayers at the Somnath temple located in Gir Somnath district. He will then preside over the meeting of Shri Somnath Trust which manages this famous religious place. The Prime Minister is the president of this trust.
Arrived at Jamnagar on Saturday evening
Prime Minister Modi arrived here on Saturday evening to participate in several programs during his visit to Gujarat. As soon as he arrived at the Jamnagar Air Force Station, people flocked to the streets to get a glimpse of him. PM Modi will also preside over the meeting of the National Wildlife Board (NBWL) at Sasan, headquarters of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary. Today, after resting night in Sasan, PM Modi will enjoy the jungle safari on Monday.
Will talk to women forest workers
On returning to ‘Singh Sadan’, Prime Minister will preside over its meeting as the ex -officio chairman of NBWL. NBWL has 47 members, including Army Chiefs, members of various states, representatives of NGOs working in the region, Chief Wildlife Warden and Secretary of various states. Officials said that after the meeting, Modi will interact with some women forest workers in Sasan. (Input-PTI)
