Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro on September 16 during his two-day visit to Gujarat. The second phase of the metro project is being prepared at a cost of Rs 5384 crore. This metro will connect Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The distance of 21 km will be covered from Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera to Sector-1 of Gandhinagar. This will increase connectivity for passengers in the state capital and Gujarat’s most populous city and will help people in commuting.
Connectivity will increase between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, traffic problem will reduce
With the opening of this metro, Gujarat’s financial hub, GIFT City, will be connected. With the help of this metro, workers working in GIFT City and other places will get the option of easy, fast and safe travel. Connectivity between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will facilitate people in commuting. If it is used by more people, then the traffic on this route will also decrease.
There will be savings in fare and time
It has been started to make commuting easier in the city. This will reduce the cost of both time and money. This is mentioned in the press release. For example, the distance between Ahmedabad’s APMC and Gandhinagar’s Sector-1 is about 33 km. For this, only 35 rupees will have to be spent by metro. Passengers will cover this distance in about 65 minutes. If you cover the same distance by other means, you will have to spend this much money; about 415 rupees by taxi in 80 minutes, about 375 rupees by auto rickshaw.
Loans taken from these companies
This project has been completed by taking loans from foreign companies. The names of these agencies are Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Creditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). Apart from this, another thing is being said that through this metro, not only time and money will be saved, but there will be another saving. Experts said that this will also reduce the carbon footprint. That is, it provides a green option. That is, it also helps in reducing the problem of pollution.
estimated the development
The government has also estimated that as connectivity improves, demand for housing and other purposes will increase in these areas. This increased demand will lead to development in real estate and people will also want to invest. People will also want to come because there will be cheap, easy and sustainable means to reach these areas. This will make people less dependent on private vehicles and will save both money and time.
