Pooja Khedkar Controversy: Former IAS probationer Pooja Khedkar, who is accused of fraud and forgery, on Wednesday rejected all the allegations against her. Along with this, she also targeted the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the organization that conducts the civil service examination. Accused former IAS probationer Khedkar says that the Union Public Service Commission has no right to take action against her. Pooja Khedkar filed her reply in the Delhi High Court on the allegations made by UPSC. The court is going to hear this case tomorrow.
UPSC had canceled the candidature on 31 July
Let us tell you that on July 31, after allegations of fraud and forgery, UPSC cancelled her provisional candidature and banned her from all future examinations or selections. Arguing against the allegations leveled by UPSC, Pooja Khedkar said that once selected and appointed as a probationer, UPSC has no right to disqualify her candidature.
No manipulation was done
He further said that he has not tampered with his name or given any wrong information in UPSC. At the same time, the High Court has also given time to UPSC and Delhi Police to present their side on Khedkar’s reply in this matter.
There will be no change in the first name and surname of the applicant
The report quoted her reply as saying that there was no change in the first name and surname of the applicant from 2012 to 2022, as consistently reflected in all DAFs. She also claimed that the UPSC verified her identity through biometric data as well as documents. According to the report, till 2020-21, Pooja Khedkar took the exam under the name Pooja Diliprao Khedkar. However, in 2021-22 after all attempts, Pooja allegedly gave two more attempts using the name ‘Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar’.
UPSC gave this argument in the court
In this regard, the UPSC has registered a police case against Khedkar for allegedly cheating in the civil services examination by misrepresenting his identity to take the exam beyond the permitted number of attempts. In its reply filed in the court, the UPSC said that custodial interrogation of Khedkar is necessary to ascertain the severity of this “fraud”, which could not have been done without the help of other persons.
The case will be heard in HC tomorrow
The Delhi High Court will hear the matter on August 29. The Delhi Police has also registered an FIR under provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act.
