Gujarat Weather Forecast: The low pressure area over south-west Bay of Bengal is likely to move west-northwest. Amidst this active weather system, the weather has worsened in many parts of the country. Especially heavy rains have been recorded in various parts of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Rain has also been seen in different parts of Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in many areas of Gujarat during the next 24 hours.
According to PTI report, the pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to move towards west-northwest. It is likely to cross the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh between Puducherry and Nellore near Chennai by the morning of October 17. Amidst these weather systems, heavy rains have been seen in different parts of the country.
Rain has been seen at isolated places especially in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, South Gujarat region, Konkan, Western Madhya Pradesh and Assam. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain can be seen in Gujarat region during this week while in Saurashtra and Kutch region during the next 2 days.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at isolated places in Panchmahal and Dahod districts of North Gujarat region during the next 24 hours. During this period, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Whereas in South Gujarat’s Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dangs, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, while in Saurashtra-Kutch’s Rajkot, Junagadh, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Kutch and Diu districts. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at places.
