Monsoon has now slowed down in Himachal Pradesh. There has been no rain anywhere in the state for the last two days. The weather is clear and sunny in the capital Shimla and other districts on Saturday. Due to this, the temperature has increased slightly and heat is being felt in the plains. The maximum temperature in Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur is being recorded around 35 degrees Celsius.
The weather is expected to remain clear in the state in the next four days. However, monsoon will become active again in the state from September 25 and heavy rain is forecast in many areas during this period. Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted rain with thunder and lightning in the plains and mid-mountain areas on September 25. In view of this, a yellow alert has also been issued in the remaining 10 districts except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur. No alert has been issued on September 26 and 27, but there are chances of rain at some places. Monsoon is now in its last stage in the state. Monsoon departs from the state in the first week of October.
19 percent less rain so far
Talking about the monsoon season so far, the state has received less than normal rainfall. The monsoon arrived on 27 June. So far, about 19 percent less rainfall than normal has been recorded during the entire monsoon season.
Director of Meteorological Centre Shimla, Dr Kuldeep Srivastava said that monsoon has weakened in the state. He said that there was no rain anywhere in the last 24 hours. There will be no change in the weather in the state for the next three-four days. Whereas from the night of 24th August, monsoon will again become active in the state and rain can be seen all over the state. There is a possibility of lightning and thunder in the plains and mid-mountain areas on 25th September.
97 incidents of cloudburst, flood and landslides during monsoon season
This time, despite less than normal rainfall, there has been a lot of destruction in the monsoon season. There have been 97 incidents of cloudburst, flood and landslides in various parts of the state. In these, 36 people died and 33 are missing. In these incidents, 122 houses, 17 shops and 24 cattle sheds were damaged. There was a huge loss of life and property due to cloudburst incidents in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu districts on the midnight of 31 July. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, movable and immovable property worth Rs 1331 crore has been damaged due to monsoon. The Public Works Department has suffered the maximum loss of Rs 633 crore and the Water Power Department has suffered a loss of Rs 513 crore.
