Rajasthan Assembly by-election: Nomination process starts from today, voting for 7 seats on November 13

The process of filing nominations for the by-elections to be held on 7 assembly seats of Rajasthan has started from today. Voting for the by-election will be held on November 13, while the result will be declared on November 23. Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said that the notification for the by-election has been issued from 18th October i.e. today, with that the nomination process for the candidates has started, which will continue till 3 pm on 25th October. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 28 and names can be withdrawn till October 30. With the announcement of the by-election, the code of conduct has come into force in the respective revenue districts.

The code of conduct will be applicable in the entire districts of Dausa and Dungarpur and in the newly reorganized revenue districts of Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Nagaur and Salumber. Voting for by-elections for 7 vacant seats in Rajasthan Assembly will be held on November 13. According to the election schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, by-elections are to be held in Jhunjhunu, Ramgarh (Alwar), Dausa, Deoli-Uniara (Tonk), Khinvasar (Nagaur), Salumber (Udaipur) and Chaurasi (Dungarpur) assembly constituencies in the state.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that 19,36,533 voters will exercise their franchise during the assembly by-election. For this, a total of 1,862 polling stations and 53 auxiliary polling stations will be established in 7 assembly constituencies. Mahajan said that media cells and district level committees have been formed in all the concerned districts for authentication of political advertisements released in the media. He stressed on making voters aware for maximum voting, giving information about voting process and EVMs to new voters and ensuring more participation of people during the by-elections.
