Congress has selected the candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly by-elections. The list will be released from Delhi soon. Today, the State Coordination Committee meeting of Congress was held in the PCC War Room regarding the selection of candidates. In this meeting held under the chairmanship of state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, along with ticket distribution, election strategy, booth management and election campaign were also discussed. It is believed that the State Congress Committee has finalized the names of candidates for all the seven seats.
Now after getting the approval of the high command from Delhi, the list of candidates will be released from there. Congress may release the list of candidates on Tuesday. After today’s meeting, one more thing has become clear that Congress will contest alone on all the seven seats. There will be no alliance with any local party.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot, State President Govind Singh Dotasara, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, Dr. CP Joshi etc. were also present in this meeting chaired by state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Sachin Pilot did not come to the meeting as he was on a foreign tour. Speaking to the media after the meeting, State President Govind Singh Dotasara said that Dotasara said that we are fully prepared on all the seven seats. We have decided the candidates. Have talked to everyone about it. Will send the proposed name (panel) to the high command.
We do not have any alliance with any party at the state level. We are contesting elections at all seven places. We want to make this thing clear also. However, he also said that whether the party high command gives any instructions or takes any decision, we are bound by it, but we have not talked to anyone about the alliance. Dotasara clarified that the panel is being sent from Jaipur. There may be one name in it or there may be names of two-three claimants.
Dotasara said that 9 out of ten members of the coordination committee were present in today’s meeting. National General Secretary Sachin Pilot could not attend the meeting due to his foreign tour. Have talked to him on phone. There has been discussion regarding tickets. These names will be sent to the high command through in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Election strategy, booth management and campaigning were also discussed in the meeting today.
