Shops evacuated citing wrong letters from Waqf Board
Rajkot: In the case of eviction of shops of Nawab Masjid of Rajkot by misusing the letter of Waqf Board, the police took action and returned their shops to the traders and registered a case against 9 people and arrested them. In this case, A Division Police has arrested 9 people, including Nawab Masjid Trust trustee Farooq Musani. According to the allegation, citing wrong letter from the Waqf Board, the locks of the shops were broken and the goods were thrown out. After the complaint was lodged with the police, the trustee of the mosque handed over the possession of the three shops back to the shopkeepers in the presence of the police.
The shop was vacated wrongly
Rajkot Waqf Board Director Asif Salot has admitted that the mosque had misinterpreted the Waqf Board’s letter and got the shop vacated in a wrong manner. Nawab Masjid trustee Farooq Musani forcefully vacated the shop. And including which 9 people have been arrested by the police. 9 people including Farooq Musani have been arrested.
Investigation into the role of Waqf Board
In this matter, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi has posted on X, in which he has told that all the shops have now opened and all the accused have been arrested. Harsh Sanghvi wrote in his post, “We are always ready to serve you. We have to ensure that no citizen is troubled by the illegal activities of any person.” The role of Waqf Board is being investigated in this matter.

Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi today reached the spot where three shops of Nawab Masjid were vacated in the name of Waqf Board. Goods of 3 Hindu traders were forcibly thrown away after their shop near Nawab Masjid. Police have arrested 9 people including Farooq Musani. People of Hindu and Muslim religions together returned the goods from the shops. Most of the Hindu businessmen have been owners of shops in Danapeeth areas for years.

Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi today met 72-year-old businessman Virendra Kotecha and after reaching the shop of the three Hindu businessmen, assured them that their shop will remain with them. When Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi reached in front of the Nawab Mosque in Rajkot, people even raised slogans of Jai Jai Shri Ram and Vande Mataram. Local MLA Ramesh Tilala, Uday Kangar, Dr. Darshita Shah, Rajya Sabha MP Rambhai Mokaria and Rajkot Police Commissioner and others were present in the meeting held by Harsh Shanghvi with Hindu businessmen.
