Haryana Election: Senior leader Ram Bilas Sharma, who rebelled against the BJP in Haryana, has announced to withdraw his nomination as an independent candidate. Sharma filed his nomination on Wednesday and during this time many senior BJP leaders were present. Now Ram Bilas Sharma has announced to withdraw his nomination amidst crying supporters, which is being seen as a big relief for the BJP. Sharma has been the former state president of the BJP in Haryana as well as a former minister.
Ram Bilas Sharma while crying said to his workers that you have sacrificed your life for BJP, I request you to accept this decision of the party. I don’t know whether life is of 15 years or 10 years, let me live with the same flag till the end for which I have sacrificed my life. When his supporters started crying after saying this, he said that your tears will weaken me. Saying this, he also became emotional. Sharma further said that it is because of you people that Mahendragarh has been a BJP cantonment. For the party, people here have faced cold and heat and also faced torture in bad times.
Ram Bilas Sharma was demanding a ticket from Mahendragarh seat in Haryana, but BJP fielded Kanwar Singh Yadav in his place in the third and final list. However, even before the announcement of the candidate’s name, Sharma had filed an independent nomination from Mahendragarh. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini had also given his reaction on this. Saini had said that Ram Bilas Sharma is a senior leader of BJP and the assembly elections are being fought under his leadership. His blessings are still there and he is not angry.
Ram Bilas Sharma is a strong leader of Haryana BJP. He has been a BJP MLA from Mahendragarh assembly from 1982 to 2000. After this, he won once again in 2014. However, in the 2019 assembly elections, Rao Dan Singh of Congress won this seat. Voting for 90 assembly seats of Haryana will be held on October 5 and the results will be declared on October 8.
