The condition of many police stations in Bihar is very bad. Due to lack of building, rats gnawed the files of 96 police stations in 18 districts. This was revealed when the work of searching the files started while making index in the police stations. The cases after 2013 are being monitored directly by the High Court. In such a situation, reports are also being summoned from the police station level in many cases. In this, the matter of not finding the file and the files being gnawed by rats is also coming to light.
The police stations of Seemanchal have suffered the most damage. There are many police stations in Kosi where the fear of floods remains. In Bihar, only Purnia Police Office is certified by ISO. While searching for a file in a dilapidated police station building in Kishanganj, a female police officer was bitten by a snake, due to which she died. The Police Headquarters is continuously working to improve other basic things including CCTV under CCTN in all the police stations. There are many police stations where there is no system to keep old files.
The condition of the buildings of many police stations in Bhagalpur district is very dilapidated. More than 200 constables in the police line are living under tarpaulin in the verandah. Purnia DIG Vikas Kumar said that due to the poor condition of the buildings in some police stations of Seemanchal, there have been reports of rats gnawing the files and causing damage due to rain water. Guidelines have been issued regarding this matter.
Proposal for construction of buildings of these police stations has been sent
In Bhagalpur, the construction work of Lalmatia, Barari, Industrial, Habibpur, Joint Police Building is going on at a fast pace. At the same time, a proposal has been sent for the construction of dilapidated Goradih, Ghogha, Mojahidpur and Nathnagar police station buildings.
200 soldiers live in a dilapidated barrack
The condition of Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati barracks, hospital barracks and entertainment barracks of the police line is very dilapidated. More than two hundred constables somehow live in all these barracks. Often snakes also enter these barracks. Regarding this matter, many times the members of the Police Men’s Association have demanded that the barracks be repaired for the residence of the constables.
The verandah has become a hideout for the soldiers
In the police lines and police stations of many districts, constables and other policemen are somehow living on the verandahs. Such policemen always have a doubt about their safety. In such police stations where there are dilapidated buildings, the condition of toilets is also very serious. Many policemen have to go to other places for toilets. Especially women policemen face a lot of problems.

Bhagalpur, Naugachhia Police District, Banka, Munger, Purnia, Araria, Katihar, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Begusarai, Khagaria, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Darbhanga and Samastipur.
Prince Kumar, Junior Engineer of Bihar Police Building Construction in Bhagalpur division, says that new buildings are being constructed for 6 police stations of the district. A letter has been written for the construction of dilapidated buildings of four police stations. Permission is awaited from the Home Department. Bhagalpur DIG Vivekanand said that a proposal has been sent for the building of dilapidated police station through the SP.
