Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: This time there is a tough competition between BJP and Congress in the Haryana assembly elections. Congress has put in all its efforts to oust BJP from power. On the other hand, BJP is leaving no stone unturned to capture power in the state once again. A close contest is expected between the two parties on all the assembly seats and in such a situation, rebel candidates have become a big problem for both the parties.
In the Haryana assembly elections, Congress is facing rebel candidates in 20 constituencies and BJP in 15 constituencies. The last date for withdrawal of nominations in Haryana was Monday but rejecting the appeal of senior leaders, these candidates refused to withdraw their nominations. In such a situation, it is believed that rebel candidates will spoil the game for both the parties in many assembly constituencies.
Rebels of both the parties are standing firm in the field
Till the last date of withdrawal of nomination, the big leaders of both the parties tried their best to persuade the rebel candidates to withdraw their nomination. Despite this, both the parties could not get complete success. However, the leaders of both the parties were successful in getting the nominations of some rebel candidates withdrawn. Congress was successful in persuading 12 disgruntled leaders in seven constituencies. However, 29 rebel candidates of Congress are still adamant in 20 constituencies.
Savitri Jindal is also among the rebels of BJP
On the other hand, on the appeal of BJP leaders, rebel candidates in six assembly constituencies withdrew their nominations. The most prominent name among the rebels whose nominations BJP was successful in withdrawing is that of former state president Pandit Ram Vilas Sharma. MP Deepender Hooda from Congress and Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini from BJP have taken the responsibility of convincing the dissidents.
The name of prominent industrialist Savitri Jindal is also included among the rebel candidates of BJP. After not getting the BJP ticket from Hisar assembly constituency, she has adopted a rebellious attitude. Apart from her, Gautam Sardana is also giving a tough challenge to the party candidate Kamal Gupta in the same assembly constituency.
Not having an alliance with you will have a big impact
During the recent Lok Sabha elections, there was a tough fight between BJP and Congress and both the parties won five seats each. During the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had formed an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party and gave Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat to AAP. Congress had contested on nine seats out of which the party won five seats. AAP candidate had to face defeat in Kurukshetra.
This time, despite all the efforts of Rahul Gandhi, the alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party could not be formed in the Haryana assembly elections. After the alliance talks broke down, AAP has fielded its candidates in all 90 assembly constituencies. In such a situation, the difficulties of Congress have increased because now it is believed that the division of anti-BJP votes will be certain.
Congress faces a big threat from rebel candidates
Political experts believe that due to the tough competition in the Haryana assembly elections this time, the victory or defeat in many assembly constituencies will be decided by a very low margin. In such a situation, rebel candidates will spoil the game for both the parties. Congress is feeling more threatened by the rebel candidates because 29 rebel candidates of Congress are still standing firm in 20 assembly constituencies. Despite all the efforts of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and his MP son Deependra Singh Hooda, these rebels did not withdraw their nominations.
Rebels are a warning bell for BJP too
On the other hand, rebel candidates have rung alarm bells for BJP as well. BJP still has 19 rebel candidates in 15 assembly constituencies. However, both parties are still trying to convince the rebel candidates. There are many such faces among the rebel candidates who can cause the party’s defeat and this is the reason why the leaders of both parties are losing sleep. The rebel candidates realize that if they manage to win the election, their role will become very important. Along with this, they also want to teach a lesson to the party leadership after their ticket was cut.
