Chhattisgarh Weather Update: The weather has turned harsh in Chhattisgarh. Reports of heavy rain and lightning are coming from many parts of the state. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded in most parts of Chhattisgarh. Heavy rain has been observed in many parts. The highest rainfall of 21 cm was recorded in Bhairamgarh (Bijapur). Not only this, 7 people died and 3 were injured due to lightning in Balodabazar-Bhatpara district on Sunday. IMD has issued red and orange alerts of torrential rain in different parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department says that sporadic rain will continue in Chhattisgarh till September 13. However, heavy rain will be seen only till September 10. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in different parts of Chhattisgarh on September 10. After this, sporadic light to moderate rain can be seen in different parts of the state till September 13. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for torrential rain in different parts of Gariaband, Dhamtari, Balod, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki districts of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains at most places in Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Kondagaon and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh. A yellow alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rains at most places in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Janjgir, Raipur, Balodabazar, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai and Sukma districts of the state. Light to moderate rains can be seen in different parts of Surguja, Jashpur, Korea, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Surajpur, Balrampur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Sakti, Mungeli and Korba districts.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of moderate to heavy rain in various parts of Korea, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai districts on September 10. The Meteorological Department says that the pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal turned into a deep depression on Monday. It is likely to move west-northwestwards through Odisha and Chhattisgarh during the next two days.
