Amidst the political uproar over reservation, Narendra Modi government’s MSME minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi has made a big statement on this. Here in Bihar, there is a stir over the 65 percent reservation limit. The parties included in the India Alliance including RJD are demanding to include it in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Just before the Bihar assembly elections of 2015, when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat talked about reviewing the reservation policy, there was a political uproar. Many political parties and caste organizations strongly opposed it. BJP had suffered a crushing defeat in this election.
Jitan Ram Manjhi said in Patna that Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had said that reservation should be reviewed in 10 years, so that it can be known which class has benefited how much. This will help in the development of the backward class. Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular’s patron cum Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said these things while starting the party’s membership campaign on Saturday.
