Congress has still not been able to digest the unexpected defeat in the Haryana Assembly elections. Apart from this, the headache has also increased due to the defeat. Now rebel leader Ajay Yadav has launched a scathing attack on Deepak Babaria, who was the election in-charge of the state. He said that Babaria is now talking about resigning, but he had to do so before the elections. Senior Haryana unit leader Captain Ajay Yadav blamed lack of micro-management for Monday’s party debacle. He said that state in-charge Deepak Babaria, who is now offering his resignation, should have resigned before the elections.
Yadav, who recently resigned from the party and then took it back, also claimed that he had an offer to join BJP after the elections, but he did not go. This is because he and his family have a 70-year-old relationship with Congress. He also said that the Congress leadership assured to listen to him, after which he withdrew his resignation. Yadav said that the OBC community has not got proper representation in the Haryana Pradesh Congress. Ajay Singh Yadav had announced to leave the party on October 17, alleging that he was ill-treated after Sonia Gandhi stepped down from the post of party president.
He had also resigned from the post of President of OBC department of Congress. However, two days later, he retracted his decision and said that he was a ‘born Congressman’ and would remain a Congressman ’till his last breath’. Yadav said here on Monday, ‘The reason for withdrawing the resignation is that I have been told that your views will be heard. I was not going to BJP, other people go to BJP. I had a proposal to join BJP. This was a proposal after the elections. He said, ‘I have spent my entire life in Congress. My son Chiranjeev is the national secretary of Congress. My father became an MLA in 1952. We have a relationship of 70 years with Congress.
If Babariya was ill then why did he not resign earlier?
Referring to the offer of resignation of Congress’s Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria, Yadav said, ‘Babaria ji is now saying that he has proposed to resign. Why didn’t you do it earlier? Why didn’t you resign at the same time when you were ill? Citing the reasons for the defeat, he said there was a lack of micro-management and coordination at the party level. The former Haryana minister said that the controversial statement of Congress MLA Maman Khan and BJP’s ‘if you divide, you will be divided’ discourse also had an impact. He said that doubts have arisen regarding EVMs in this election also.
No OBC from Haryana in CWC, raised voice again
He also said that only Jat and Dalit communities from Haryana have got representation in the Congress Working Committee, while the BJP has made many OBC leaders from the state ministers at the Centre. Yadav said that the heads of the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Minority and OBC departments of the Congress should also be a part of the expanded Congress Working Committee and the head of the OBC department should not be just a ceremonial post. He expressed hope that the deprived communities will be kept in mind while distributing tickets in the assembly elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
