Their other demands include setting up of a centralized referral system for all hospitals and medical colleges in the state, implementation of a bed vacancy monitoring system and setting up of a task force to ensure necessary provisions for CCTV, on-call rooms and washrooms at their workplaces. formation is involved. They are also demanding increased police security in hospitals, recruitment of permanent women police personnel and rapid filling of vacant posts of doctors, nurses and other health workers.

Resignation of senior doctors of the hospital

Senior doctors of RG Kar Hospital said that the decision of mass resignation was taken because “there has been no response from the administration to save our children and solve their problem.” Earlier today, about 15 senior doctors went on a symbolic hunger strike in solidarity with their junior doctors. This movement of junior doctors has taken place during the Durga Puja festival in Kolkata. Due to this heinous incident, the festive enthusiasm has faded in the state.

West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant had assured on Monday that 90 per cent of the ongoing projects in the state’s medical colleges would be completed by next month. He urged the protesting doctors to return to work.
