Uttarakhand news: The Gramotthan Project (Rural Enterprise Veg Progress Project) has proved to be effective in supporting the livelihood of 10 thousand poor families of the state. Under the project, a target has been set to increase the livelihood of a total of 5.60 lakh needy families residing in rural areas of the state.

The Rural Development Department is operating the project with the financial assistance of the International Agricultural Development Fund. This scheme, implemented since the year 2023, has now been implemented in 95 development workers of all 13 districts of the state. The project aims to double the income of needy families, promoting rural entrepreneurship through banks through banks, active farmers, productive groups, livelihood associations in agro -based activities. The total cost of this project is 2789.27 crore. In which a target has been set to include 5.60 lakh families, out of which more than 3.24 lakh families have been linked to the scheme so far. Under the project, a target has been set to connect very poor 10 thousand families with economic activities through special packages, the good thing is that in the first two years, more than 10732 families have benefited from the target under the scheme.

Under the project, through activities like milking, goat rearing, poultry, retail repair shops, etc., the annual income of a total of 7341 families, has increased by more than Rs 1.5 lakh. Also, the annual income of 3751 women involved in various activities of this project has reached more than one lakh. The Gramotthan project is being operated to ensure that adequate employment opportunities are available in the government rural areas. Its goal is to provide livelihood opportunities to families with limited -income families, connecting them with their skills and resources around them. The plan is proving to be a boon for poor families.
