Abu azmi: Maharashtra SP President and MLA Abu Azmi was suspended from the assembly on Wednesday. Abu Azmi, while praising Aurangzeb, alleged that the image was shown wrong. This was strongly opposed by BJP and Hindu supporters on this. At the same time, there was a continuous demand for suspension from the House. In this episode, the speaker suspended Abu Azmi for the entire session.
Samajwadi Party MLA from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar seat Abu Azmi had said that India was a golden bird during Aurangzeb’s time. Aurangzeb ruled for 52 years, and if he was really making Hindus a Muslim – then imagine how many Hindus would have converted. If Aurangzeb broke the temple, he also broke mosques. He further said that I do not consider the 17th century Mughal emperor Aurangzeb as a cruel, tyrannical or intolerant ruler. These days, a distorted image of the Mughal emperor is being created through films. However, after this he also withdrawn his statement.
Abu Azmi said that my words have been shown by distorting. I have said the same about Aurangzeb Rahmatullah Aleh that historians and writers have said. I have not made any derogatory comment about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj or any other great sages – but still I have been hurt by this thing, so I withdraw my words, my statement. This is being made a political issue, and because of this, I understand to stop the budget session of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly that it is to harm the people of Maharashtra.

BJP leader Nitesh Rane said that in such a case only suspension will not work, strict action should be taken against Abu Azmi. BJP said that SP should refute his statement.
