Now the number of sand ghats in Bihar has increased to 984. Earlier this number was 580. The main reason for the increase in their numbers is the division of large ghats into smaller units. The mining process will start soon on all these 400 new sand ghats. The process of auctioning all the new and existing sand ghats is going on at a fast pace.
Sand mining activity is going to resume in the state from October 15. Also, the pace of auction of sand ghats will speed up.
