Bihar Politics: Om Prakash Rajbhar, a cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and National President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa), has made a big announcement for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. He has said that his party is fully ready to contest 29 seats in Bihar. Talking to the media in the township, Rajbhar said that his party will field its candidates in the seats from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the alliance.
Rajbhar said that we have worked with full strategy on the political plane of Bihar. The party is going to enter the electoral fray with full force. ” He also informed that he has been interacted with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on this subject and a decision will be taken soon on seat sharing.
If Rajbhar contests elections in Bihar, then …
The NDA can get strengthening on ethnic basis. Rajbhar is an influential leader of the Rajbhar community of Purvanchal (eastern Uttar Pradesh). This community is also present in the border districts of Bihar, especially in Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, Champaran and Kaimur districts. If they contest elections together with NDA, they can make a dent in the OBC class, especially backward and backward vote bank, which can benefit the NDA.
Opposition, especially RJD damage
RJD has a traditional vote bank Yadav and Muslim (My) equation in Bihar, but at the same time it tries to bring other backward castes together. If leaders like Rajbhar are active in Bihar, then OBC votes can be divided, which can prove to be harmful for the Grand Alliance (RJD+Congress+Left).
Limited ethnic and regional influence
Although Om Prakash Rajbhar’s identity has been limited to UP, his party has no concrete organizational roots in Bihar. In such a situation, it can be difficult for them to attract voters outside Rajbhar society. If you fight in collaboration with the NDA, you can get seats, but the effect on fighting independently will be limited.
Rajbhar’s emphasis remains on ethnic rights and census. If they contest elections in Bihar, caste issues will be more prominent. This can increase ethnic polarization, especially in rural and backward areas.
Rajbhar announced a historic rally in Bahraich
Rajbhar has also announced a major rally in Bahraich on 10 June. He said that this rally will be historic as never happened nor will it be ahead. King Suheldev’s victory day will be celebrated in this rally and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been invited as the chief guest to make it memorable. He informed that meetings are being held at the divisional level for the preparations for the program.
Steps towards social justice told caste census
Expressing his opinion on the caste census, Minister Rajbhar said that this process will definitely be completed, even if it takes time. Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, he said that this decision is a big relief for those sections of the country who have been deprived of government schemes till now. Rajbhar said that the Prime Minister has resolved to connect such people with their rights, who are barely destined for two times. This initiative will prove to be a milestone towards bringing him to the mainstream.
