In Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, security forces arrested two terrorists who attacked with grenades. In a statement issued by the army, it was said that on the basis of intelligence information, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a search operation in Surankote area of Poonch sector. In this operation, we have arrested two terrorists of Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force, Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain.
It was told by the army that arms, ammunition and hand grenades have been recovered from these terrorists. Their arrest will play an important role in dismantling the terrorist network. Because both the terrorists were involved in carrying out grenade attacks on religious places and hospitals, terrorism financing, anti-national propaganda and arms smuggling and other terrorist activities.
ADGP Jain said that with the arrest of these two accused having links from across the border, cases of five grenade attacks that took place in the district till November last year have been solved. The busting of Ghaznavi Force module is a big success for all the agencies. Interrogation of both those terrorists is going on, we hope to get more information.
Police said interrogation revealed that they had received four consignments of arms, ammunition and Rs 1.5 lakh from their handlers across the border. He was given training in using pistol and also fired a few rounds for practice in the forest area. ADGP Jain said that the captured terrorist Hussain was responsible for throwing a grenade near the district hospital quarters on July 18. Apart from this, both of them had thrown more grenades at the meeting places. To create an atmosphere of fear among the people, they also pasted anti-national posters at various places in Surankote, including government high schools in Hari, Dhundak, Sanai, Idgah-Hari and other nearby areas.
