Floods have worsened the situation in many districts of Bihar after the rivers overflowed. 76 schools in Patna district will remain closed till September 26. 81 schools in Khagaria district have also been closed till September 28.
The situation in Patna and other districts is bad due to the floods caused by the rise in the water level of Ganga and other rivers in Bihar. This has also affected the education of children. Schools have been closed in flood-affected areas in Patna and Khagaria districts. Patna DM Chandrashekhar issued an order to keep 76 schools in 8 blocks of the district closed till Thursday (September 26). At the same time, the district administration in Khagaria has decided to close 81 schools in flood-affected areas till next Saturday (September 28).
Patna’s District Magistrate Chandrashekhar on Monday instructed the District Education Officers to keep an eye on the schools in the flood affected areas. Along with the children, teachers have also been instructed not to go to school because there is a danger of accidents due to waterlogging.
The areas in Patna where schools have been closed include Ramnagar Diara Panchayat of Athmalgola, Ibrahimpur of Barh block, Chiraiya Rupsar of Bakhtiyarpur, Hardaspur Diara, Kala Diara, Rupas Mahaji, Akilpur, Ganghara, Hetanpur, Madhavpur, Kasimchak, Manas, Panapur, Patlapur, Haiwaspur of Danapur block, Momindpur of Fatuha block, Ganghara, Patlapur of Maner block, Shivnagar of Mokama block and Nakata Tola Diara of Patna Sadar block.

The DM had earlier ordered these schools to be closed till September 21. But the Ganga river remained above the danger mark and in view of the current situation, its duration was extended till September 26.
81 schools of Khagaria will remain closed for the whole week
On the other hand, 86 schools in the areas affected by the floods of Ganga and Gandak river in Khagaria district will remain closed for the whole week. Earlier, 56 schools of the district were closed for 26 September. Now again, based on the report of the BEO, an order has been issued to stop studies in 25 more schools surrounded by floods. The DM has extended the closure period of flood-affected schools to 28 September. The 25 schools that have been closed in the new order include 6 schools of Khagaria block, 9 of Parbatta, 1 of Gogri, 7 of Chautham and 2 of Mansi.
