Situation worsens due to floods in Bihar, schools closed in many areas of Patna and Khagaria

Floods have worsened the situation in many districts of Bihar after the rivers overflowed. 76 schools in Patna district will remain closed till September 26. 81 schools in Khagaria district have also been closed till September 28.

Patna’s District Magistrate Chandrashekhar on Monday instructed the District Education Officers to keep an eye on the schools in the flood affected areas. Along with the children, teachers have also been instructed not to go to school because there is a danger of accidents due to waterlogging.

The DM had earlier ordered these schools to be closed till September 21. But the Ganga river remained above the danger mark and in view of the current situation, its duration was extended till September 26.

81 schools of Khagaria will remain closed for the whole week

On the other hand, 86 schools in the areas affected by the floods of Ganga and Gandak river in Khagaria district will remain closed for the whole week. Earlier, 56 schools of the district were closed for 26 September. Now again, based on the report of the BEO, an order has been issued to stop studies in 25 more schools surrounded by floods.
