Samajwadi Party has placed a big demand in front of Mahavikas Aghadi, which is busy in finalizing seat sharing in Maharashtra. A tweet has been made by SP MLA Abu Azmi asking Akhilesh Yadav for permission to contest on as many seats as possible in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. He said that he wants to remind NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress that it is getting late and now is the time for them to collectively announce on which seats the alliance parties will contest.
Apart from this, Abu Azmi claimed that his post came amid reports that Congress is going to declare its list of candidates for the assembly elections. He said, “Meetings in Maha Vikas Aghadi are being held only between Congress, NCP (SCP) and Samajwadi Party. Meetings with smaller parties are pending.”
He clarified, “I heard that Congress is going to announce something. I said it is important for them to take us into confidence and talk to us about the number of seats to be given to us. That’s why I have tweeted There is no resentment.”
Abu Azmi said that his post came at a time when Akhilesh Yadav and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi were in Jammu and Kashmir to take oath as Chief Minister of Omar Abdullah. Azmi said he felt that his tweet would trigger a discussion on seat sharing as many leaders of the India Alliance were present in the Union Territory.
Azmi said that he has demanded 12 seats from the alliance for Maharashtra elections. He said that Congress has no influence on the seats he has demanded. He said, “If any party in the MVA in Maharashtra, be it Congress, NCP (SP) or Shiv Sena (UBT), releases the list of assembly candidates without talking to the Samajwadi Party or taking them into confidence, then it means That they do not consider Samajwadi Party as a part of MVA.”
Let us tell you that elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on 20th November. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
