Nitesh rane: Recently, a new controversy has emerged in Maharashtra about the language, which has now been rapidly hot. There are reports of violence against Hindi speakers from Maharashtra, Bengaluru and some other parts of South India. However, this language issue in Maharashtra has already caught fire. Raj Thackeray’s Manse Party workers are often found misbehaving with Hindi speakers. Now another video is going viral on social media, in which Manse party workers say beating a Hindi -speaking person, it is necessary to speak Marathi if you want to live in Maharashtra.
Meera Road incident:
The incident is from Meera Road, where Manse Party workers beat up a Hindi speaking shopkeeper. The beaten person was named Babulal Chaudhary, who used to run a sweet shop in Meera Road. The next day of the incident, the merchant organization protested and announced a bandh in Meera Road.
Nitesh Rane’s statement:
After this incident, the statement of Maharashtra BJP MLA Nitesh Rane came out, which has created a stir in the political corridor. When Nitesh Rane was asked a question on the issue, he said, “A Hindu has been killed. If these Manse workers have courage, they should kill a person with a hat or a beard on the Nal Bazaar or Mohammad Ali Road. Then their real Dadagiri will be revealed. They will have the courage to show Dadagiri only on a poor Hindu. If they have courage, they should do so with them.
Role in politics of language dispute:
This language controversy has now divided the politics of Maharashtra into two parts. One side is talking about the right to speak Hindi, while the other side is looking at the Marathi language as a symbol of identity and pride. Manse workers harass Hindi speakers on the day they arrive, but this dispute of Marathi vs Hindi can be even more fierce, especially now when municipal elections are going to be held in Maharashtra.
Vote Bank Politics:
It is also believed that this language dispute is being provoked under vote bank politics. In view of the upcoming elections in Maharashtra, this issue is being raised for political gains, so that public attention can be distracted from real issues. Now it has to be seen whether the language dispute will move forward or some steps will be taken towards peace.
