The suicide of a female BJP leader in Surat, Gujarat has created a sensation. In Surat’s Althana ward number 30, BJP Mahila Morcha President Deepika Patel committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta in her own house. There is a situation of panic in the political circles due to this incident. The post mortem report of Deepika Patel has confirmed suicide. Police is investigating the call details of his mobile. The reason why Deepika Patel took such a big step has not been revealed yet.
Family members expressed fear of murder
Meanwhile, a relative of the deceased said that Deepika was a long-time BJP worker and was also doing social service. During this, he told that his family was always afraid of Deepika’s murder. She further said that at the time of suicide, Deepika’s family and children were at home, and her husband was in the fields.
Last call was made to BJP councilor
34-year-old Deepika lived in Althan area of Surat. She was married to Nareshbhai Patel. There are two sons and a daughter in the family. The husband works in agriculture and Deepika was actively associated with BJP. BJP had given Deepika the responsibility of President of Mahila Morcha of Ward 30. According to the NBT report, Deepika had come in contact with BJP councilor Chirag Solanki only 2 years ago. Police have captured the CCTV footage outside Deepika Patel’s house before she committed suicide. Information came to light from police sources that Deepika had last called Surat Municipal Corporation councilor Chirag Solanki in which she had told Chirag that she was committing suicide. After this, Chirag Solanki reached Deepika’s house, which has been confirmed in CCTV.
Was someone blackmailing Deepika?
Police interrogated BJP councilor Chirag Solanki for three hours following the family’s allegations. Police are investigating the reasons behind Deepika’s suicide. There is apprehension being expressed whether someone was blackmailing Deepika? After which Deepika committed suicide. According to DCP Vijay Singh Gurjar, doctors have confirmed death due to hanging.
