A court in Madhya Pradesh has sentenced a 22-year-old boy to death. Earlier, the court had convicted him of raping and killing a 5-year-old innocent girl.
A court in Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram district on Wednesday awarded death penalty to a 22-year-old man for raping and murdering a five-year-old girl. District prosecution officer Rajkumar Nema informed in a press release that Sohagpur II Additional Sessions Judge Suresh Kumar Choubey convicted Kishan alias Chinu Machia under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Citing the verses of Ramcharit Manas, the judge said that the rape of every innocent girl is a rarest of rare incident. The case of rape and murder cannot be considered normal in any way. According to the incident, the girl went missing from home on 25 December 2021. Her body was later found on the terrace. Investigation had revealed that she was sexually assaulted before being strangled.
The girl’s elder brother had told the police that while they were playing, Machhiya had come to the roof. Machhiya had forced him to go down from the roof. When he went down from the roof, Machhiya committed the crime. During investigation, the DNA profile of the accused also matched with the samples collected from the spot.
