Feeling of terrorist attack after 20 seconds
Recalling the tourist Rishi Bhatt incident from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, the firing started when I was doing ziplineing. I did not realize it for about 20 seconds. I suddenly felt that the firing had started and the people on the ground were being killed. I noticed that 5-6 people were shot. After about 20 seconds, I realized that it was a terrorist attack.
My wife and son were screaming
Bhatt said, ‘He (zipline operator) raised religious slogans. After this the firing started. I came to know that the people of two families were asked by us and were shot in front of my wife and son. My wife and son were shouting. I opened my belt and jumped down, started running away with my wife and son. We saw that people were hidden at one place, which was like a pit. So you could not easily see anyone. We also hid there.
15-16 tourists were shot
With this, the tourist Rishi Bhatt said, ‘When the firing stopped after 8-10 minutes, we started running towards the main gate, firing again started and 4-5 people were shot. 15-16 tourists were shot in front of us. When we arrived, we saw that we are hidden at one place. We reached the gate, we saw that the locals had already gone. A pony guide took us from there, we soon found the Indian Army soldiers ahead of us. He secured all tourists.
Army soldiers safe
According to Bhatt, ‘The army covered Pahalgam within 20-25 minutes. He covered all tourists within 18-20 minutes. We were feeling safe after the army covered. I am grateful to the Indian Army. 9 people were zipline in front of me, but the operator did not say anything.
Zipline operator is suspicious
Bhatt told, ‘When I was sliding, he spoke and then the firing started. Therefore, I suspect that man. He shouted religious slogans three times and started firing. He looked like a common Kashmiri. Even in the forest, the army was present everywhere in the low -lying areas. But there was no army officer at the main place. There were three security guards along with Jammu and Kashmir Police at the main gate.
