In Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur, a man slit the throat of a 24-year-old woman and killed her. Police officials said that after the attack, the man cut his wrist and jumped into the Telibandha pond. However, he was later rescued by the rescue team of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force). They said that the incident took place around 4 pm.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Lokeshwar Tarak (25). He had a heated argument with the victim in the basement of the building. Police said Tarak and the girl worked in different restaurants opposite the Telibandha lake.
The woman wanted to end the relationship
Officials said that according to preliminary information, Tarak was married but he was friends with the deceased woman. The woman and Tarak’s wife worked at the same place. They said that the woman wanted to end her relationship with Tarak, due to which there was an argument between the two. After the argument, Tarak took out a knife and attacked her on the neck. After this, he ran towards the pond and jumped after cutting his wrist.
Officials said that the woman, who was seriously injured in the attack, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died during treatment. He said that as soon as the incident was reported, a police team reached the spot and caught the accused. The accused had climbed to the base of the fountain in the middle of the pond. He was rescued by a team of State Disaster Response Force. Police said that a case of murder has been registered against the accused and the matter is being investigated.
