Many police stations of Himachal Pradesh, which tops the Crime and Criminal Network System (CCTNS) rankings, are deprived of their vehicles. These include CID and traffic and tourist police stations. Nearly two dozen police stations of the state do not have their permanent vehicles. This shocking information has come to light during the monsoon session of the state assembly going on in Shimla. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has responded to the question of MLA Malendra Rajan in a written reply. Know which police stations he mentioned.
Hire private vehicles
Due to not having their own permanent vehicle, these police stations face many problems. Many times, if more than one crime takes place in the concerned police station area, it becomes challenging to reach the crime scene. Although private vehicle facility is available in such police stations, but it does not prove to be an effective solution every time. Private companies are providing vehicles in many police stations so that there is no problem in patrolling and other tasks in the police stations.
