Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inspect relief distribution works for flood affected people in Darbhanga on Friday. In this sequence, food packing centers and community kitchens will also be seen. CM will leave for Darbhanga from Patna at 10.50 am. There they will go to the food packing center in the indoor stadium. After this, he will visit the community kitchen in Punoch village of Biraul subdivision. After this he will return to Patna at 1 o’clock in the day. In the evening he will distribute grant money to the affected families of flood affected districts. For this, a program has been organized at Sankalp located on Ane Marg.
There was a lot of administrative activity throughout the day on Thursday in preparation for the arrival of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Biraul. Administrative officials are busy preparing adequate food packets, distributing relief in the camps, security and cleanliness etc. A helipad was made on Thursday at Khoragachi ground in Biraul for the CM’s programme. DM Rajeev Roshan and SSP Jagunath Reddy Jalareddy have given several instructions to the officers.
According to sources, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will land by helicopter at Khoragachhi ground at 12.10 pm. From here they will leave for Poonach by road. There he will inquire about the well being of the flood victims. Will also review the ongoing relief work in the camps. It is being speculated that the Chief Minister may also inspect the broken embankment of Kosi River. The Chief Minister’s special emphasis will be on the ongoing repair work of the broken embankment so that once the work is completed soon, the displaced people can return to their homes. They will leave for Patna from Khoragachhi at 12.40 pm.
People’s expectations increased from CM’s program
People’s expectations from the Chief Minister’s program have increased. People are expecting the announcement of cleaning of silt accumulated over years in the womb of Kosi and Kamla Balan rivers, raising and strengthening of western and eastern embankments of Kosi river. At the same time, people are also waiting for the announcement of construction of dams on Kamla Balan and Kosi for permanent solution to floods.
