Threat of flash flood in 3 districts of Himachal, alert issued, 47 roads closed, what will be the weather tomorrow?

Many roads are still closed due to continuous rain in Himachal Pradesh. Traffic came to a halt on 47 roads in Himachal on Saturday. The local weather office has warned of the danger of flash floods in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. 18 electricity and one water supply scheme have been affected due to heavy rains in the state. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a yellow alert of strong winds with thunder and lightning in six districts of the state. If the weather department is to be believed, rain will start decreasing from September 8.

During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 64 mm was recorded in Malron, Himachal Pradesh. After this, 41.7 mm rain was recorded in Mandi, 32.5 mm in Pandoh, 30.4 mm in Barthein, 29.8 mm in Aghar, 28.4 mm in Bhatiyat, 26 mm in Jubbarhatti, 25.7 mm in Bhuntar, 19.6 mm in Sundernagar, 13.4 mm in Paonta Sahib, 12 mm in Manali, 11.6 mm in Kufri and 11 mm in Sarahan.

The IMD has warned of mild to moderate flooding in parts of Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts till Sunday. Currently, a total of 47 roads are closed for traffic, including 13 in Mandi, 11 in Kangra, nine each in Shimla and Kullu, two in Una and one each in Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts.

IMD has issued a yellow alert of strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms in various parts of Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts of Himachal during the next 12 hours. The weather is expected to remain almost clear in the rest of the districts of the state. IMD has not issued any alert regarding rain in the state on September 8. Due to this, the weather is expected to remain clear in most places of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, there has been a 21 percent decrease in rainfall in Himachal Pradesh since the arrival of monsoon on June 27. Himachal Pradesh has received only 517.8 mm of rain against the average rainfall of 652.1 mm. A total of 158 people have died in rain-related incidents during the current monsoon season from June 27 to September 7, while 30 are missing. The state has suffered a loss of Rs 1,303 crore. Keylong in Lahaul Spiti remained the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius.
