Himachal Rain News: In Himachal Pradesh, monsoon rains are constantly causing havoc and there is no hope of getting relief from it. Heavy rains in Mandi caused havoc on Tuesday, but the danger is not averted yet. Relief and rescue work is being done on Wednesday due to a slight stopping rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow alert from 2 to 4 July. During this time there will be light to moderate rain, but there is no possibility of much danger. After this, an orange alert of heavy rain has been issued from July 5 to 7. In these three days, people have been advised to take special precautions and stay in a safe place. The Meteorological Department said that till July 8, the weather in the state will remain bad and people need to be vigilant.
Even today, many places in the state are thick clouded. According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was in Kasauli in Solan district, where 55 mm of rain was recorded. Apart from this, 54 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Baghi, 38 mm in Dharampur, 36 mm in Mandi, 32 mm in Sarahan and 28 mm in Solan. Due to continuous rains, the risk of landslides and waterlogging has increased in many places. People have been advised to be vigilant.
51 people died in 12 days, 22 still missing
According to information received from the State Emergency Operations Center, heavy rains and disasters have caused heavy havoc in the state in the last 12 days. So far 51 people have died and 103 have been injured between June 20 and July 1. Apart from this, 22 people are still missing, whose search is on, during which 55 houses, 9 shops and 45 cowsheds have also been completely or partially damaged. According to officials, so far more than Rs 283 crore has been lost. Relief and rescue operations are continuously continuing from the administration.
Appeal to people to be vigilant
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep grief over the rain and disaster and has given instructions to provide immediate help to the affected people. The Chief Minister said that according to initial estimate, the state has lost more than Rs 500 crore so far. He has appealed to the people to follow the warnings of the administration and take full care in bad weather. Meanwhile, the administration has instructed all district officials to stay on alert. It is advisable to avoid coming to and from landslide areas near rivers, drains.
