In Surat, Gujarat, a young man cut off four of his fingers just because he did not want to work as a computer operator. The surprising thing is that the young man did not express his desire to anyone that he wanted to leave the job. During interrogation, he told that he did not have the courage to tell his relative that he wanted to leave the job. For this reason he cut off his fingers so that he would not have to do this job.
Surat Police said that Mayur, who cut his own fingers, is 32 years old and used to work as a ‘computer operator’ in his relative’s diamond company. To avoid this job, he cut off four fingers of his left hand with a knife. Surat Police said on Saturday that Mayur had earlier told the police a story that he had fallen unconscious on the roadside, after which his fingers were found chopped off, however, upon investigation of the incident, it was found that he himself had cut his fingers with a knife. A statement issued by the Crime Branch of Surat Police said that Mayur harmed himself because he did not have the courage to tell his relative that he was working at Anabh Gems, a company based in Varachha Mini Bazaar. Don’t want to work anymore. The statement said that the victim used to work as a computer operator in the accounts department of this company and due to amputation of his fingers, he is no longer able to do this job. Mayur had earlier told the police that he was going to a friend’s house on December 8 on a motorcycle when he felt dizzy and fainted on the Ring Road near Vedanta Circle in Amroli. Mayur told the police that when he regained consciousness after 10 minutes, four fingers of his left hand were cut off.
How was it revealed?
A case was registered at Amroli police station regarding this incident and the investigation of the case was handed over to the Crime Branch of Surat Police. He examined CCTV footage as well as used technical surveillance, after which Mayur’s involvement in the incident came to light. “Mayur confessed that he had bought a sharp knife from a shop near Char Rasta in Singanpur,” the officer said. Four days later, on Sunday night, he went to Amroli Ring Road and parked his motorcycle there. He cut four fingers with a knife at around 10 pm and tied a rope around the elbow to stop the bleeding. Then he put the knife and fingers in a bag and threw them away.
Fingers and knife recovered
The officer said his friends took him to the hospital. He said that three of his fingers were recovered from one bag, while a knife was recovered from another bag. The officer said that Amroli police is investigating the matter. (Input- PTI language)
