Incidents of finding various items like stones, rods, cylinders on railway tracks are happening every day. Meanwhile, RPF has arrested two accused from Chhattisgarh for placing stones on the track.

Srivilliputtur Railway Station police have arrested two accused from Chhattisgarh. These people are accused of placing stones on the railway track. The incident was carried out between Kadayanallur railway station in Tenkasi district and Pambakovilshande railway station in Tirunelveli district. This incident happened with train number 12662 on 25 September. The name of the train is Chennai Egmore – Pothigai Express. Due to stones on the track, the train collided and stopped for some time.
Clue found in interrogating local people
Railway police had registered a case on the complaint of senior engineer of Sengottai and started investigation. RPF had deployed two teams. The teams went to the local people to investigate and tried to get to the bottom of the matter. Later it was revealed that Ishwar Mediya of Bastar and Baghel of Jagdalpur work in a stone quarry in a nearby area. On the basis of suspicion, these people were arrested and interrogated.
The accused confessed, they were arrested under these sections
During interrogation, both of them confessed to their crime. The accused have been arrested under sections 150(1) A and 147. Section 150(1A) is for illegally placing stones or wood on a railway track. Whereas Section 147 is related to encroachment of railway property. These sections are mentioned in the Railway Act. After the arrest, these people were produced before the magistrate in Rajapalayam court. After this, both the accused have been sent to judicial custody for 15 days.
After investigation and inquiry it will be known why those people placed stones on the track. Although the accused have confessed, now other parties will also be investigated and the reasons behind this will be found out.
