Uttarakhand news: A new ray of development is going to reach the border areas of Uttarakhand. A large campaign of electricity supply has been started in the villages of Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts under the border out post scheme of the state government and the Border Out Post Scheme of the Center and the Vibrant Village Program.
Under this scheme, 43 ITBP posts and 882 families living in eight marginal villages will be connected to grid connections. For this, UPCL has intensified technical survey and necessary preparations.
According to the Managing Director of the Energy Corporation, the scheme is not limited to providing electricity only, but it is a decisive attempt to connect the marginal areas to the mainstream. It will also open the way for new opportunities for education, health services, digital connectivity and livelihood.
Which villages will reach electricity:
In Uttarkashi district: Purli
In Pithoragarh district: Navi, Kutti, Gunji, Garbayang, Sheela, Baling, Tidang
In the process of providing electricity to these areas, works such as determination of line route, plans to install pole, and transformer location identifying. Despite the difficult geographical conditions and limited resources, teams are working on a war footing.
The management also clarified that the scheme is also important for safety, as the availability of electricity will also increase the communication, monitoring and operational capabilities of the security forces deployed on the border.
This initiative is confirmed that now development will not only be limited to cities, but will also reach the last person settled on the border.
