Thalali cloudburst: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the incident of cloudburst in Tharali area of Chamoli district late on Friday night. In this disaster, a young woman died due to being pressed into the debris, while one person is missing. The Chief Minister has wished the missing person’s carelessness. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the teams of the police, disaster management department and district administration have reached the spot and started relief and rescue work.
It is being told that heavy debris spread to Tharali market and surrounding areas due to cloudburst in Tunari Gadere of Tharali tehsil area late Friday night. Many houses including SDM houses were damaged due to this debris, and the shops were also filled with debris. Many vehicles were also buried in the debris. The DDRF team reached the spot as soon as the information was received, while the SDRF and NDRF teams have left for the disaster affected area. Karnprayag-Gwaladh road has also been damaged in many places due to heavy rains, which is being done to smooth on priority basis.

Expressing deep grief over the disaster, he requested all the public representatives to cooperate with the district administration in relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister also interacted with the local MLA and expressed the expectation of physical inspection of relief and rescue operations by staying on the spot.
