Uttarakhand news: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 25th meeting of the Central Regional Council held under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Varanasi today. Many ministers including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai were present in this important meeting.
Special emphasis on border areas of strategic importance
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami raised many important issues related to Uttarakhand state prominently in the meeting. He emphasized that the state of Uttarakhand, bordering international borders, is very important from the strategic point of view. In view of this, it is very important to provide proper facilities of road, communication, security and logistics supply in the border areas of the state.
He urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide more assistance to Uttarakhand through the Border Roads Organization (BRO). Chief Minister Dhami also emphasized the development of facilities in the border villages of the state under the Vibrant Village program, so that it can help prevent migration from there. He also requested to introduce Bharat Net Scheme, 4-G Extension Project and Satellite Based Communications Services for the development of communication facilities in the marginal areas.
Demand for laxity and technical cooperation in policy provisions
Chief Minister Dhami also urged the central government to relax some policy provisions in the interest of Uttarakhand state. He made the following major demands:
• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: Allotment of central grant should be made lump sum.
• Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana: Additional support should be provided for efficient operations.
• Climate Change Studies: A high -level glacier study center should be established in the state to study the effects of climate change.
• Biodiversity Protection: Technical support should be provided from the Center for the establishment of biodiversity conservation institution.
In this meeting, Chief Minister Dhami effectively raised issues related to the development and strategic security of Uttarakhand, which had a meaningful discussion with the Union Home Minister and other Chief Ministers.
