Uttarakhand news: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be on a tour of Haldwani on Friday. His visit is considered to be very important from administrative and disaster management point of view.
The Chief Minister will reach the Army Helipad at Haldwani at 12 noon, where he will meet the Vice President of the country, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. After the Vice President’s Delhi departure, the Chief Minister will conduct aerial inspection of Jamrani Dam Project and its surrounding areas at 1 pm. After this, they will leave for GTC helipad Dehradun.
In view of the tour, the administration has made adequate security arrangements. Police and other departmental officers have been placed on alert mode.
In his statement, the Chief Minister has appealed to the people and Chardham passengers to be vigilant on the mountainous routes. Describing the vehicle accident in Rudraprayag as “unfortunate” today, he has directed to provide condolences to the dead and immediate treatment to the injured.
The Chief Minister has instructed the Transport and District Administration to regularly check public vehicles running in the mountainous areas. He said that strict action will be taken on any kind of laxity in it.
Dhami has also asked to strengthen the system of warning indicators on dangerous turns, security railings, and parafits so that the drivers coming and going become alert. Also, travel routes should be monitored on the basis of weather forecasts so that passengers can be stopped till they provide safe passages. He said that a long -term security plan should be prepared to prevent recurrence of accidents in future. In this regard, the officers have been asked to prepare and submit a plan.
