Uttarakhand news: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various departmental construction schemes costing more than Rs 15 crore along with distributing appointment letters to the selected 15 assistant teachers in the Government Ashram system schools operated under the Tribal Welfare Department in the Chief Sadan at the Chief Minister’s Housing.
Expressing confidence, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all these projects will not only help in empowering the basic facilities of tribal society, but will also provide better facilities to the citizens. The Chief Minister, while wishing the selected candidates, said that all the young teachers will play their important role in the overall development of the new generation. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many historical steps are being taken for the upliftment of tribal society today.
The most important decision in this regard is to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Gaurav Day. The Chief Minister said that the previous governments used to talk about the development of tribal society only for showing, whereas today new works are being done on the ground for the overall development of tribal society under the leadership of the Prime Minister. The central government has increased the budget given for the development of tribal society to 3 times as compared to earlier. At the same time, schemes like Eklavya Model School, Prime Minister Tribal Advanced Gram Abhiyan, Van Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Tribal Development Mission are also being run for tribal society.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 128 tribal villages of Uttarakhand have been selected under “Prime Minister’s Tribal Advanced Gram Abhiyan”. Today, 4 Eklavya Adarsh Residential Schools in our state are being operated in Kalsi, Mehrawana, Bajpur and Khatima, in which students of tribal community are being provided free education and hostel facilities. Similarly, the Central Government has recently been requested to open Eklavya Vidyalaya for educational upgradation of Bhotia and Raji tribe in Seemant district Pithoragarh. Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that the state government is also doing many work for the welfare of tribal society. Where on the one hand, children of tribal society are being provided scholarships in classes from primary level to postgraduate level. At the same time, 16 state ashram posts are also being operated in the state. Along with this, three ITI institutions are being operated in the state to provide technical education to educated unemployed young men and women of the tribe society. Scholarships are being provided to the children of the tribe society along with free coaching arrangements for preparing competitive examinations.
Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that taking inspiration from the actions of Lord Birsa Munda, the state government is also committing determination to preserve the cultural values and demography of Uttarakhand. For this, strict anti -conversion law has been implemented in the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government has freed more than 9 thousand acres of government land from encroachment. Along with this, the first Civil Code Act in Uttarakhand has been implemented in the country, but all the scheduled tribes have been excluded from this code to conserve the traditions of tribes. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has announced beautification at the Tribal Research Institute and the construction of the high -tech toilet blocks for girls, “etc. The construction of dining halls in the target institute.
